Woman accused of stabbing boyfriend in chest
An Edinburg woman is accused of stabbing her live-in boyfriend in the chest with a kitchen knife on Wednesday night.
Lt. Chris Baker, of the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office, said Tammy Lynn Gnegy, 24, of 31 Lamberts Villa, has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding.
“Patrol was called to the address for a reported domestic disturbance,” he said. “Upon arrival, officers met with a male, who resides with the suspect, who had suffered a puncture wound to the chest as a result of the suspect stabbing him with a kitchen knife.”
The victim was treated at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital and has been released.
Baker said authorities have written an emergency protective order between the two that lasts 72 hours from the time of the incident.
As of Thursday afternoon, Gnegy was being held in the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail in Warren County without bond. She is set to appear in Shenandoah County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court at 9 a.m. Dec. 15.
