Chamber to host job fair Thursday

The Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce will host its first regional job fair Thursday, with over 26 businesses in attendance.

The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Woodstock and is open to the public, including high school and college students. Job seekers are encouraged to bring copies of their resume and be prepared for interviews during the fair.

Sharon Baroncelli, executive director of the Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce said this will be their first county-wide job fair.

“We’re very excited that we have this opportunity where we can bring all the employers together into one place,” she said. “We hope that there will be many job seekers.”

According to a chamber news release, employers coming to the fair include Augusta Health, Bowman Andros Products, Bryce Resort, Carmeuse Lime & Stone, Centennial Broadcasting, Denny’s, Dutch Have, Holtzman Oil & Propane, Home Instead Senior Care, Howell Metal, Lord Fairfax Community College, Massanutten Resort, McDonald’s, Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury, Shentel, Valley Health, Virginia Army National Guard and Wholesome Transportation.

Job opportunities include engineers, production supervisors, high-skill manufacturing, electricians, maintenance mechanics, general labor, marketing consultants, promotions assistant, personal care aides, housekeeping, cooks, construction, restaurant managers, servers, hosts, machine operators, line set operators, and summer and part-time positions, the release stated.
