Dump truck crash spills 100 gallons of fuel into road

A Friday morning crash involving a Toyota car and a dump truck led to 100 gallons of fuel spilling onto Remount Road and John Marshall Highway, the Front Royal Police Department said in a press release.

Brian Davis of Stanardsville, Virginia was driving the truck northbound on Remount Road when Dana Laub of Front Royal pulled into the truck’s path in her Toyota. Laub hit the truck’s fuel tank, causing a diesel fuel spillage that closed both the northbound and southbound lanes of Remount Road for two hours while hazmat and fire and rescue crews worked to clean up the spill.

Both vehicles had to be towed away from the scene, and Laub was charged with failing to yield the right of way. There were no injuries reported from the  crash.
