Car crash victim dies from injuries

James Seth Snyder, of Martinsburg, West Virginia,  died in INOVA Fairfax Hospital at 10:13 p.m. on Wednesday due to injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle crash on Saturday, according to a news release from state police.

The accident occurred when Snyder, 20,  was traveling eastbound on Stokes Airport Road. His vehicle struck an embankment while entering a left-hand curve, and as his 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier overturned he was ejected from the vehicle. Snyder was not wearing a seatbelt, state police reported.

Between July 1, 2015, and June 30 the Virginia Department of Transportation recorded 12 crashes that resulted in $15,000 worth of damage or a fatality along the 1.9 miles of Stokes Airport Road, according to Sandy Meyers, VDOT district communications manager.
