Woodstock teen dies in Harrisonburg stabbing
A Woodstock man died Thursday morning from injuries sustained in a stabbing incident in Harrisonburg the night before.
Bruce Allen Dysart, 19, of Woodstock, had been in an argument with Brian Lee Hailey, 20, of Harrisonburg, which led to Dysart being fatally stabbed at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday in the area of 47 South Ave. in Harrisonburg, police said in a statement.
Officer L. Brooke Wetherell, a public information officer with the Harrisonburg Police Department, said she could not describe where on his body Dysart had been stabbed, but did say that a knife was used. Hailey was detained at the scene and arrested without incident, Wetherell said.
Dysart was immediately transported by ambulance to Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, and was then flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville where he later died early Thursday morning.
Hailey has been charged with first-degree murder, and is being held without bond at the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Regional Jail. His next hearing date is scheduled for Dec. 12 in Harrisonburg/Rockingham General District Court.
