Investigators search for armed robbery suspect

Investigators with the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect in a Wednesday morning armed robbery of a convenience store near Edinburg.

Capt. Wes Dellinger of the Sheriff’s Office said between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. Wednesday, a white male wearing a gray jacket, gray pants and black shoes entered the Country Convenience Store at 19873 Senedo Road, west of Edinburg, just after it opened. The suspect, wearing a black bandana partially covering his face, brandished a handgun as he demanded money from a store employee, Dellinger said.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money, and left in a maroon or red colored vehicle similar in appearance to a station wagon, Dellinger said. He then headed west and then south on VA 42.

No one was injured in the armed robbery, Dellinger said, and investigators were on the scene for two hours processing evidence after the incident. The Sheriff’s Office posted a video of the robbery that can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/shencosheriff/videos/vb.113316308703483/1470323796336054/?type=2&theater.
