Middletown moving forward with hire
Middletown is moving forward with hiring a part time employee in the zoning department.
The Town Council on Monday approved spending up to $25,000 on salary for the new hire based on the person’s experience.
The town is working on an advertisement for the position, which will be up to 28 hours per week.
Previously, council members unanimously agreed that an employee needed to be added to assist Middletown Zoning Administrator Fred Wharton.
The move comes as the area is being developed. Construction has begun on the 180-unit, 60-acre Village of Middletown and zoning will need to be able to keep up with the needs of developers, council members have said.
