Pedestrian hit along Senedo Road
Virginia State Police are investigating a crash in which a pedestrian was struck along Va. 42 in Shenandoah County.
The crash occurred at 7:40 p.m. on Va. 42 approximately 100 feet north of Route 681.
A 1995 Chevrolet sedan was traveling south on Senedo Road when a pedestrian attempted to cross the road and walked in front of the vehicle. The vehicle swerved to avoid the pedestrian, but the pedestrian was struck, according to a statement from Virginia State Police.
The pedestrian, a 56 year-old woman from Edinburg, was transported to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, said Corinne Geller, public relations director for the state police. This victim’s condition is not known, Geller said.
The driver of the vehicle was a 26 year old Woodstock man. He was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seat belt, according to the statement.
No charges will be filed.
