Clay Thomas Curbow, 18, of Stephens City, died in a head-on vehicular collision at 9:38 a.m. Tuesday.

State police Sgt. F. “Les” Tyler said Curbow was traveling southbound on U.S. 11 near Klines Mill Road in Frederick County when his vehicle veered into the northbound lane.

His 1998 Honda Accord collided head-on with a Chevy four-door driven by Patricia Anne Koch, 70, of Woodstock. She was transported to Winchester Medical Center.

Curbow was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

Preliminary investigations showed that alcohol was not involved in the crash.
