Local deputies arrest Page County man on drug charges

Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant and arrested a Page County  man recently on drug charges.

George Calvin Turner III, 36, of Shenandoah, faces charges of manufacturing a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, according to court records.

Deputies on March 23 responded to a disturbance at a home on Dark Hollow Lane in New Market and stated in court records that they found Turner with a small glass jar containing bags of a controlled substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a container containing blue pills and white pills. The blue pills were found to be Xanax and the white pills were found to be Oxycodone.

Deputies executed a search warrant on April 10 and arrested Turner.

Turner, who has lived in Page County his entire life, was found to be wanted in that county on a parole violation.

He has a prior criminal record of failure to appear, tampering with a drug test, driving with a suspended license, fleeing and eluding and trespassing, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and parole violations, according to court records.

Turner is scheduled to appear in Shenandoah County General District Court on April 20.
