Woodstock man arrested on sodomy, resisting arrest charges
The Woodstock Police Department arrested a 32-year-old man Wednesday night on charges of resisting arrest and forcible sodomy.
Capt. Chris Baker, of the Woodstock Police Department, said that police had an outstanding warrant for the arrest of Brandon Watson-Kaufman. They went to his home at 161 Lora Drive in Woodstock on Wednesday to serve it.
When police arrived, Watson-Kaufman fled to the bedroom, Baker said. Once he was in the bedroom, Watson-Kaufman managed to grab a knife.
“He was able to grab a knife and began to inflict harm on himself, and the officers deployed a taser and were able to successfully secure him and get the knife away from him during that incident,” Baker said.
Watson-Kaufman later went to the hospital, where he received medical treatment for the knife wounds.
He arrived at Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail around 2:15 a.m. Thursday, about four hours after police arrested him, according to the jail’s inmate database.
Baker said that Watson-Kaufman is being held at the jail without bond.
