Police seek clues in attempted robbery

FRONT ROYAL – Town police are looking for two people suspected of injuring a woman during an attempted strong-arm robbery that occurred early Friday morning.

The Front Royal Police Department received a report of an attempted strong-arm robbery just after midnight, according to information released by the agency Friday afternoon. Employees of Spelunkers at 116 South St. were tending to a 28-year-old woman for injuries sustained during the incident. Officers arrived, assessed the victim’s injuries and called an ambulance to transport her to Warren Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The woman told officers she was walking in the area of Tourist Street and Proctor Lane when she encountered twounidentified male subjects. Both suspects wore ski masks and demanded money from the woman when a struggle ensued, police said. The victim sustained several lacerations on her hands and legs during the struggle. The suspects fled the area on foot.
