Sheriff’s Office looking for man suspected in breaking into home

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 32-year-old man who is suspected of having entered at least one home and attempted to take food.

The office received a call from a homeowner Friday morning of a breaking and entering into a home in the 700 block of Hillandale Road. Deputies identified the suspect as Petru Barba based on surveillance video photos, said Sgt. Daniel Maxfield.

While in the home he attempted to take food. Barba is believed to be living in the woods in the Linden area. There have been several incidents within the last month allegedly involving Barba in Warren and Fauquier counties.

There are active arrest warrants for him. Barba is 32-years-old, described as 5 foot 7 inches tall, with brown hair and eyes, according to a prepared statement.

Deputies remind everyone to lock the doors and windows of their homes and vehicles, Maxfield said.

They ask anyone encountering Barba to call 911. Anyone with information is asked to call the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at 540-635-4128 or email sgtmaxfield@warrencountysheriff.org
