Man accused of abducting, raping woman
A Shenandoah County man remains in jail without bond on charges of holding a woman against her will and raping her in July.
Elmer Bruce Good Jr. remains held without bond at Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail on one count each of rape by force, attempted forcible sodomy, abduction, stalking and two counts of domestic assault. Good also stands charged with violating a protective order. An arrest warrant charges Good, 40, of 9459 S. Congress St., New Market, with committing rape on or about July 16 or 17.
Good is scheduled to appear in Shenandoah County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Sept. 25.
A criminal complaint filed by Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Glenn D. Ogle states that the accused got into an argument with the alleged victim on July 16. Between 11 p.m. July 16 and 1 a.m. the next day, Good asked the victim to have sex with him. The victim told Good no because of the way he had treated her earlier, the complaint states. When they went to bed, Good tried to be intimate with the victim, who again told him no and to stop, the complaint states. Good tried to perform a sex act on the victim who told him no again.
“Good got up in anger and got his knife off of (his) belt and came to the bed and said she would have sex with him,” the complaint states. “He put the knife on the pillow next to the victim and then he … had sexual intercourse with her …”
Authorities booked Good at the regional jail on July 20.
