Discovery Museum builds on construction effort

The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum has announced its intention to use the current construction on the Loudoun Street Pedestrian Mall in Winchester as an educational experience for curious visitors. Museum staff have developed an activity packet which a number of the walking mall locations will provide throughout the construction project's duration.

In the activity packets, children can learn about simple machines such as levers, wedges and pulley systems, and then see them in use on the large construction machines. Participating locations are:

The Winchester Book Gallery
Brewbaker's Restaurant
Espresso Bar & Cafe
Red Fox Creamery
147 North
Incredible Flying Objects
Giovanni's
Cork Street Tavern
Thai Winchester Restaurant
Old Town General Store
