Students celebrate 100 days

Wakefield Country Day School's kindergarten class recently celebrated 100 days of school so far this year. The students all worked on a 100th day project at home and then presented what they created to the class, with parents and the preschool and pre-kindergarten classes in attendance.

The kindergartners told what project they made, the steps involved in creating it, how they counted their 100 objects (ones, fives, tens) and what materials they used. The class also made a paper chain of 100 links: 10 students each made 10 links, and every student's contribution was a different color.

A 100th day of school book that they made told what 100 objects they would like to eat, would never eat, what objects they have, something they could do 100 of (jumps, sit-ups, claps, etc.), and what they would look like if they were 100 years old.

They also learned and performed a 100th day of school song that mentioned Wakefield Country Day School by name and was sung to the tune of: "I've been working on the railroad," adapted to say: "We've been working in our classroom, for 100 days...."
