Wakefield announces college acceptance offers for seniors

Wakefield Country Day School, in Huntly, has announced that the members of its senior class have been accepted at over 55 colleges and universities and have earned nearly $2 million in scholarship offers.

The members of the Class of 2013, their acceptances and scholarship offers are as follows: Grace Albert -- Eckerd College ($68,000), James Madison University, Christopher Newport University and Virginia Commonwealth University; Katie Brown -- Loyola University ($76,000), Tulane University ($108,000) and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; Alexandra Cancio-Bello -- George Mason University, College of Charleston, University of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University; Daniel Chadduck -- Xavier University ($52,000), Roanoke College ($32,000), Guildford College ($50,000), Hampden -- Sydney College, Lynchburg College and Randolph -- Macon College ($47,000); Marc Cugnon -- Yale University ($132,000) and University of Virginia --Echols Scholar; Rachel DuMez-Central College ($60,000), Hope College ($18,000), Calvin College and Randolph Macon College ($65,000); Brittany Kwolek -- James Madison University, Christopher Newport University and Marquette University ($37,600); Mary Leskovec-George Mason University, Old Dominion University ($20,000), University of Maryland, Virginia Commonwealth University and James Madison University; Sam Lilburn -- Xavier University ($68,000), Randolph-Macon College ($58,000) and Hampden -- Sydney College; Carl Liles-Auburn University ($6,000); Fordham University and Cornell College ($72,000); Makenzie Magaro -- University of Virginia and James Madison University; Caroline Murray -- Sweet Briar College ($77,200), Lynchburg College ($52,000), Randolph Macon College ($54,000), Roanoke College ($76,400), St. Joseph's University ($56,000), Catholic University ($68,000), Scranton University ($60,000) and College of Charleston; Conor O'Heir-Hampden -- Sydney College ($60,000) and Wabash College; Will Scaring-Randolph College and Randolph -- Macon College ($54,000); Hannah Tufts -- Randolph-Macon College ($58,000); and Shannon Weir -- Virginia Wesleyan College ($62,000), Roanoke College ($74,000), Randolph Macon College ($54,000) and Christopher Newport University ($5,000).


The Merit Scholarship offers and grants made to Wakefield's 22 seniors to date total $1,780,200.
