Almost 40 people attended a bee keeping program held Saturday at the New Market Area Library. Presenters Maureen and Hank Marien brought equipment and supplies, and shared tips on how to get started in raising bees. Those present learned about bees, honey and resources. Brenda Kiessling, master beekeeper and teacher, provided support.

The next adult program at the New Market Area Library will be held on April 20, at 3 pm at the library and is called "Have You Looked Up Lately." April 20 is National Astronomy Day, and the program will be focused on star gazing with George Reinsfelder of the Shenandoah Astronomical Society presenting the program. Topics include how to use a telescope to explore the stars, and how to get involved with the society and what they do. Participants may bring their own telescopes for a hand on session after the general presentation, and everyone is invited to join the Astronomical Society for an evening of star gazing at 7 pm at the County Park in Maurertown. The program is free and pre-registration is not required.
