Bryce, Massanutten offer late season winter options

Bryce Resort in Basye has announced that its slopes are still open, the latest ever, with snow groomed for skiing through Easter.

The resort will offer special late-season lift and equipment rental rates of $20 each. The slopes will be open from at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also Saturday, the resort and take part in a first ever Easter egg hunt on snow covered slopes. The hunt begins at 9 a.m. at the Ski School. Children who ski can look for eggs on the slopes, and non-skiing children can hunt for eggs at the base of the slopes. There will be over 400 treat or certificate-filled eggs "hidden" in the snow. There also will be several select Golden Eggs, courtesy of the Golden Goose (who has signed a partnership agreement with the Easter Bunny for this event), filled with either treats or certificates good for lift tickets for the 2014 ski season, mountain biking at our new Timber Trails Bike Park, ziplining or summer grass tubing.

At Massanutten Resort in McGaheysville, the slopes are closed for the season, but because of unseasonal snow and optimal temperatures, snow tubing will remain open through the end of March. Tubing hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday to Sunday.
