Wakefield team places in contest

The Wakefield Country Day School Certamen team placed fourth out of 35 teams in the UVA Classics Day Certamen competition on March 9. They missed the chance to compete in the finals by a single question.

The WCDS Certamen players included seventh graders Bernie Cieplak, Tony Elar, Grayson Galeone, Douglas Griffin and Harmony Lindstrom. This is their fourth top 5 finish of the season.

Certamen is a specialized branch of quiz bowl that focuses exclusively on questions related to Latin grammar, vocabulary, Roman history, culture and mythology.
