The annual Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury Apple Blossom Tea was held at the abbey on April 19.

After enjoying finger foods and door prizes, participants wearing their finest pink and green frocks -- and even pink tiaras -- watched Miss Apple Blossom Victoria Maiden crown resident Dola Tylor SVWC Apple Blossom Queen.

Event coordinator Laura Hager said that the queen was pleasantly surprised and touched by the honor to represent the SVWC community, said a press release from SVWC. The tea is the start of each year's Apple Blossom traditions at Westminster-Canterbury. The community at 300 Westminster-Canterbury Drive., Winchester, plans its annual Apple Blossom walk for Thursday morning.
