Athletes at academy recognized for achievements

Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal has recognized several of its students for athletic achievement during the 2012-13 winter sports season:

Sixth grader Carolyn Laourdakis, the daughter of Thomas Laourdakis of Front Royal, received the Most Improved Player Award for the junior varsity swimming team.

Eighth grader Joseph Silek, the son of Joe and Jane Silek of Front Royal, received the Coaches' Award for the middle school boys' basketball team.

Eighth grader Thomas Minchew, the son of Amy Minchew of Winchester, received the Most Improved Player Award for the middle school boys' basketball team.

Eighth grader Katelyn A. Shea, the daughter of Debra and Bobby Adams of Winchester and James T. Shea also of Winchester, received the Most Valuable Player Award for the junior varsity swimming team.

Freshman Gabriel George Williams, the son of George and Angie Williams of Front Royal, received the Coaches' Award for the junior varsity basketball team.

Sophomore Tyler Benjamin Vaughan, the son of Walter and Michele Vaughan of Front Royal, received the Coaches' Award for the junior varsity basketball team.

Sophomore Xel Ochoa, the daughter of Edgar and Susan Ochoa of Front Royal, received the Coaches' Award for the varsity cheerleading team.

Junior Caitlin Grace Bunker, the daughter of Rev. Jonathan Bunker and Dr. Susan Gawalt of Berryville, received the Coaches' Award for the varsity girls' basketball team.

Junior Margot Cramer, the daughter of Kim and Steve Cramer of Winchester, received the Coaches' Award for the varsity swimming team.

Junior Victor Marshall, the son of Cheryl and Herbert Marshall of Front Royal, received the Most Improved Player Award for the varsity wrestling team.

Senior Marcus Jacob Williams, the son of George and Angie Williams of Front Royal, received the Coaches' Award for the varsity boys' basketball team.

Senior Tanner Blankenship, the son of Daniel and Wendy Blankenship of Front Royal, received the Most Valuable Player Award for the varsity swimming team. He was also named DAC Swimmer of the Year.
