Bloom firefighters' marshals, coronation prelate announced

The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Office has made the following announcements:

Jep and Jessica Robertson of "Duck Dynasty," a reality TV series on A&E, will serve as firefighters' marshals for the festival, which starts Saturday.

"Duck Dynasty" shows the lives of the Robertson family, who became wealthy from their family-operated business, Duck Commander, which is operated in West Monroe, La. The business makes products for duck hunters.

The third season of "Duck Dynasty" premiered Feb. 27.

The Robertsons plan to arrive in Winchester in time for Queen Shenandoah LXXXVI's coronation at John Handley High School, at 1:30 p.m. May 3. They will ride in the Firefighters' Parade that day at 5:30 p.m. Their appearance is sponsored by Loudoun Mutual Insurance Company.

The festival office also announced this week that Rev. Alan B. Gray has been chosen as coronation prelate for the coronation of Queen Shenandoah.

Alan is ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has served in ministry for over 35 years. He currently lives in Middletown.

Tickets for the coronation and other festival events can be purchased at the souvenir store at 107 Millwood Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, until 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
