Front Royal presents Joe Waltz AEE credential

The Town of Front Royal has announced that Joe Waltz, director of energy services has successfully earned the Association of Energy Engineers' Certified Energy Procurement Professional credential. Waltz completed the AEE's training program and written examination to achieve CEP recognition.

According to the AEE, CEPs demonstrate a high level of knowledge, experience, competence, and ethical fitness covering the full spectrum of activities related to the purchase, sale and marketing of electricity and natural gas. Before beginning the AEE's Fundamentals of Buying and Selling Energy program, CEP candidates must meet prerequisite criteria, including educational and professional experience requirements. After applicants successfully complete the examination and application process, AEE's Certification Board performs a final review and notifies candidates of approval or denial. Each CEP must obtain 10 Continuing Education Units or Professional Development Hours every four years to maintain certification.

The town has recently been recognized as providing the lowest residential electrical rates in the Commonwealth of Virginia by the Office of the Attorney General.

Achieving the CEP credentialing reflects the commitment Waltz has demonstrated to serving the citizens of Front Royal.
