The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival will accept applications through May 10 for its fourth annual Barrels, Barbecue and Bands fundraiser on June 15.
Americana players and bands are invited to participate at the event at Cave Ridge Vineyard in Mt. Jackson.
Three or four musicians, duos or bands will be selected to perform for about 25 minutes each at the fundraiser. The public at the event will vote for their favorite, and the favorite will earn a slot on the festival stage in Orkney Springs later this summer.
Tickets are available at www.caveridge.com. Applications are available for download on the announcements feed at www.musicfest.org.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary of bringing great music to the valley, the festival takes place on the grounds of the Old Orkney Springs Hotel, part of the Shrine Mont Camp and Conference Center.
The music festival is supported by ticket sales, fundraising activities, individual donations, sponsorships and by grants from Shenandoah County and the Virginia Commission for the Arts, from money allocated by the Virginia General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
