Wakefield announces more students awarded at Spanish exams

Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly has announced more students who scored well in the recently administered 2013 National Spanish Examinations.

In Spanish II, the nine students in the class earned eight awards. Freshman Rebecca Paulisch led the way with a gold medal. Classmates Gabriel Cancio-Bello, Joseph Dowell, Carolina Leonard and Monica Marciano earned silver medals. Abe Nolan was awarded a bronze medal, while Brendan Martyn and Rahmet Rahimi earned honorable mention recognition.

In Spanish IV, senior Grace Albert earned a bronze medal. Angeline Cancio-Bello teaches all of these students at the school.

The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades six through 12 and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
