Front Royal Kiwanis installs new officers

The Kiwanis Club of Front Royal has announced it recently installed its slate of officers for the upcoming year.

Wayne Barber is the new club president; Tom Curry is vice president; Brenda Wells is secretary and Leonard Sherp is treasurer.

These members, along with the newly-appointed board of directors, will serve until Sept. 30, 2014.

The board of directors includes Linda Allen, Curry, Don Dusenbury, Diana Evans, Ron Harvey, Terry Leckie, Melanie Stull, Barbara Tringali and Mike Waters.

In October club held a blood drive with the American Red Cross at the American Legion Hall in Front Royal.

Also the club recently announced a $6,000 pledge over two years to a fund to help pay for new playground equipment at E. Wilson Morrison Elementary School in Front Royal.

Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service to children and communities.
