The Virginia Department of Education has announced that application information is available for the 2014 Governor's Summer Residential Program, which includes seven summer residential governor's schools and four governor's foreign language academies. The programs offer gifted students opportunities for intensive study in academics, foreign languages, mentorships, and visual and performing arts. Students must be in 10th or 11th grade to apply.
Warren County students should contact the guidance office at their school for more information. Applications for visual and performing arts students are due Nov. 14. Applications for foreign language students are due Dec. 2 and for academic students Jan. 27, 2014.
