The New Market Rotary Golf Tournament raised about $6,000 primarily to help support the Shenandoah Area Chapter of the American Cancer Society and The Shenandoah County Free Clinic. Each year the New Market Rotary Golf Tournament asks golfers, sponsors and donors to participate in the event at the Shenvalee Golf Resort. This year 18 foursomes participated in the tournament. Cash prizes were given to the team with low gross scores and the three low net team winners as well as two closest-to-the-pin holes and a closest-to-the-line hole. The long driver winner was Jerry Biller of New Market Rotary. Rotarians Lynda Krobath, chairperson; Larry Strawderman, Larry Smith, Bart Long Jefferson Burgess, Bernie Brown, Beverly Holsinger and Patrick and Matthew Dauer participated with Lynda Krobath's husband Skip Krobath at the helm. The event was an outstanding success.
The New Market Rotary has thanked all participants, donors and sponsors for helping the American Cancer Society and the Shenandoah County Free Clinic, again this year. A special thank you and recognition to the Shenvalee Golf Resort and their tasty buffet after the tournament.
