Bryce fundraiser to benefit Orkney Springs rescue squad

Bryce Resort has announced it will spearhead an effort to raise funds for the Orkney Springs Fire & Rescue Squad 18 in Basye, donating $5 on every regularly priced eight-hour or extended day ticket sold between Dec. 25 and Jan. 5.

The Shenandoah County squad is an all-volunteer facility dependent predominantly on donations for their sustainability. On average they respond to 35-40 calls per month, helping guests, members and visitors to Bryce Resort and the area who have been injured on or around the resort or the general vicinity. Given the nature of skiing and mountain biking, winter weather and slippery roads, there are days where the team responds to more than one call. Many lives have been saved thanks to Bryce Resort's ski and bike patrol and with the OSFR volunteer crew.
