Barns of Rose Hill adds board directors

Barns of Rose Hill in Berryville has announced the addition of several new directors to its board.

Diana Kincannon and Susan C. Bailey, who were active in the successful capital campaign to restore the two 1920s-era barns in Berryville's Rose Hill Park, have returned to the organization.

Kincannon will serve as chairman of the board and Bailey will be secretary. Kincannon holds a BA and graduate degree in music and brings more than 30 years of music performance and business experience in the financial services and executive search sectors. Bailey, a native of Clarke County, has been involved in the community for over 35 years as a realtor, retailer, volunteer and advocate for Berryville revitalization.

Also joining the board as of Jan. 1 are Jean Wilson of Berryville, Gerry Kiefer of Winchester and Micki White of Stephenson.

Wilson, treasurer, lived in Northern Virginia for almost 30 years before moving to Berryville in 2010. Her career has included banking, commercial real estate development and commercial property management, and she presently works as the CFO for a commercial printer in Tysons Corner.

Kiefer is associate professor of art history and art at Shenandoah University, where she has developed courses and opportunities in studio art, art appreciation, global arts and modern western art.

She worked as a volunteer and exhibitions coordinator for the Shenandoah Arts Council and served on the board of directors of the Clarke County Historical Association.

White was born and educated in the United Kingdom but moved to the United States in the late 1950s. Her background is in marketing and general management in the hospitality sector, with experience in wedding planning and dinner theater management.

Directors returning to board service from last year include David Conrad as vice chair, Jerry Johnson, Lily Dunning, Carolyn Farouki, Karen Keating, Tricia James and Rick Sponseller. Wilson Kirby, mayor of Berryville, will work with the board as a liaison with the town.

The Barns of Rose Hill opened in Sept. 2011 as a center for community, arts and education. For more information, visit www.barnsofrosehill.org or call 540-955-2004.
