Clarke Historical Association to offer summer history camps

The Clarke County Historical Association has announced a new series of three summer camps as part of Club History, which will take place this summer at the Burwell-Morgan Mill in Millwood.

Introduction to Milling: Jr. Edition for ages 6 to 8 will be on June 13, and Hooping up History: Fun and Games 18th Century Style for ages 8 to 12 will be on June 20. Both camps are from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The first two camps will follow similar formats, with a short educational program and tour followed by a snack. Then participants may make a craft to take home before participating in games.

The third camp is Conservation in Clarke County, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on June 27. The class for ages 13 and older will teach about the conservation of natural resources.

Classes are $35 and take place at 15 Tannery Land, Millwood. For more information, call 540-955-2600.
