Final group of festival princesses announced

The selection of princesses to serve in the Court of Queen Shenandoah LXXXVII for the 2014 Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival has been announced by festival officials. The princesses include Victoria Louise Pullen, Cassidy Christine Scott, Anne Violet Zerull and Hannah Mary Zontine.
 
Victoria Pullen is attending Lord Fairfax Community College in Winchester where she is a freshman majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Elizabeth and Larry Pullen of Stephenson. She is the granddaughter of Peggy and Jerry Clarke of Cross Junction and Myrtle Pullen of Winchester, and the late Sally Viscuisi and Charles Pullen. She was a member of Sacred Heart Youth Disciples Core Leadership team, and was president of the Equine Enthusiasts, Pony Club and Work Camp. Pullen's passion is horseback riding and her other hobbies include running. She graduated from Seton Home Study School.
 
Cassidy Scott is attending George Mason University in Fairfax where she is a freshman majoring in government international politics. She is the daughter of Michelle and Kingsley Menifee of Winchester. She is the granddaughter of Kathy and Raymond Hortness of Eunice, La. Cassidy graduated from John Handley High School in 2013 where she was a member of the debate team, president of the German Club, treasurer of the Anchor Club, and was a yearbook staff member. At George Mason University she is a member of Alpha Phi Sorority.
 
Anne Zerull is attending York College of Pennsylvania in York, Pa., where she is sophomore majoring in primary education with a minor in special education. She is the daughter of Lisa and David Zerull of Winchester. She is the granddaughter of Nina and David Tripp of Seville, Ohio, and Violet Zerull of Twinsburg, Ohio, and the late Harry Zerull. She graduated from James Wood High School in 2012, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, honor roll all four years and was a two sport athlete in cross country and softball. Zerull is on the dean's list, and Club Softball president at York College. She earned the Make a Difference Award in 2013. She loves to travel, hike and run.
 
Hannah Zontine is attending the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg where she is a freshman majoring in English and psychology. She is the daughter of Susan and Matthew Zontine of Winchester. She is the granddaughter of Patricia Gertie of Cinnaminson, N.J., and Patricia Zontine and David Zontine both of Winchester and the late Vendelinus Gertie. Zontine graduated from Wakefield School in 2013 where she was a member of the National Honor Society and yearbook staff. She was a two sport varsity athlete, four years on the swim and soccer teams. She earned the All-Conference DAC swimmer and varsity swimming Coach's Award. At the University of Mary Washington she is a volunteer for the Big Brother Big Sister Organization. 

The princesses will accompany Queen Shenandoah LXXXVII and her court to all festival functions throughout the 87th festival scheduled for April 25 to May 4. They will participate in the coronation ceremony to be held at 1:30 p.m. May 2 at John Handley High School. They will ride the Royal Float in the Grand Feature Parade scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. May 3.
