Glen Nickens graduates from Richmond sheriff's academy

The family of Glen Nickens has announced he graduated from the Richmond City Sheriff's Ofiice's Basic Academy on March 21 and has been named a deputy sheriff in Richmond.

Nickens, the son of Dorothy Peyton of Winchester, is a graduate of Strasburg High School and Virginia Union University. In high school he participated in wrestling and football under the direction of Coach Glen Proctor, and has held various jobs in security.

Also attending his graduation ceremony at the academy were Nina and Herbert Nickens of Strasburg and Jim Nickens of Winchester.
