Rotary Club dinner to fund four local organizations
The Rotary Club of Woodstock has announced that it will donate more than $15,000 to four local organizations next month.
Funds were raised on April 5 when the Rotary held its popular shrimp and catfish dinner. Professionally prepared dinners were served to 465 local residents and their friends in what has become the biggest fund raiser of the year for the 81-year-old club.
The event is an all-hands-on-board project, where every one of the club's 70 or so members is expected to participate. Co-chairs, for the third year, were Cena Hubbell, Richard Glading and Kimery Ryman.
In addition to dinner ticket sales, funds were raised from major event sponsors, table sponsors and donations of merchandise for a silent auction and a raffle.
