Collecting coins for cancer research

From left, sisters Niki, 14, and Dakota Funkhouser, 17, and their cousin Natalee Peterson, 6, all of Strasburg, count coins at First Bank of Strasburg on Tuesday for the Relay for Life American Cancer Fund. They collected $1,263.20 (75 pounds of cash) mostly in dimes since last fall with their Toms Brook United Methodist Church Relay for Life team leader Diana Bauserman. They planned a check presentation for Friday at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds in Woodstock. Josette Keelor/Daily
