The New Market Area Library has announced that Jim Douglas, who spent much of his career as an extension agent in Alaska and now gardens in Virginia, presented an informative program at the library on May 17.

The library hosts an adult program most months of the year, suggested and often presented by library volunteers. Douglas brought many hands-on objects to demonstrate, starting by listing topics that the audience of about a dozen people wanted to hear.
