Wakefield Country Day School held its 42nd Annual Field Day competition on May 30.

Students from first through 12th grade were divided by into two teams, the Spartans and the Athenians. Captains Mike Stone and Emily Hennessy for the Spartans and Sam Nolan and Kim Pankow for the Athenians drafted the students for their teams and represented the citizens of the two ancient city-states in friendly but fierce competition.

Although the day started out cloudy and wet, events quickly moved outdoors as students ran, jumped, played soccer, ultimate Frisbee, cornhole, kickball and capture-the-flag earning points for their team.

Teams also earned points for their marching prowess, team spirit and costumes.

The Spartans won and have ownership of the trophy until next year's competition.
