Donations help provide wheelchair-accessible van

2014_07_11_Van.JPG Norma Dano of Strasburg sits in her new wheelchair-accessible van. Dano's six sisters and the local community helped her reach the $15,000 goal needed to purchase the van. Dano has Charcot Marie Tooth Disease, a disease characterized by deteriorating muscles that has been developing since she was 12. Donations made to Operation Barnabas

2014_07_10_Barnabas.jpg Our Savior Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod recognized contributions made by Operation Barnabas to U.S. Armed Services personnel worldwide on June 29. Elder Michael Sproull, left, and Pete Hinkle, center, vice president of the Virginia and West Virginia Chapter of Thrivent Financial, presented donations of $1,000 and $500 respectively to Capt. Mark G. Steiner, U.S. Navy regional chaplain. Operation Barnabas is a network of care to military members, families and veterans. The operation's goals are to provide care and support to mobilized pastors, their families and their congregations, as well as providing other services.
