St. Paul Lutheran Preschool and Childcare Center of Strasburg held its graduation ceremonies at the church on June 6. There were 17 graduates who will attend kindergarten in the fall.

On May 31 in the evening, Wakefield Country Day School held its closing ceremony for its primary and grammar schools. Head of School Jessica Lindstrom presided and made introductory remarks.

Wakefield Country Day School held its 34th commencement exercise on June 1 in the school's Senior Garden in the early evening. Twenty seniors graduated and received their Wakefield diplomas.

J'Dana Holsinger of Strasburg, a political science major in the College of Arts and Sciences at Shenandoah University, was named to the spring dean's list.
She is the granddaughter of Gary Holsinger and the late Linda Ritenour Holsinger.

The Wakefield Country Day School Middle School History Bowl Team competed in the Middle School History Bowl National Championships in Washington, D.C., May 18-19. With wins on both days, the team earned a fifth place finish.

A team of Wakefield Country Day School eighth grade students won the Roller Coaster Mania contest on May 17 at Kings Dominion. They were the overall winners in the middle school division (grades 6 to 8) with the "Pac Man's Final Run" coaster.

Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly held its annual kindergarten graduation ceremony on May 22. Ten proud kindergartners processed into the school's auditorium. The boys wore coats and ties and the girls wore white dresses. The achievements of the preschool and pre-kindergarten students also were celebrated that morning.
