What's happening now?

I would love to see letters to the editor every day on our Comment section, but I don't get enough in to set aside one corner of the page for them on a daily basis. What's up with that?

Your opinion matters, and you have the right to make your voice heard. Your letter to the editor may provoke rebuttals or it could prompt action to right a wrong. Think about how your words can make a difference.

I'm offering space for 350 words per letter each day. Who wants to help me create a daily public forum? Upload your letters in our Virtual Newsroom - www.nvdaily.com/virtual

Did you notice the color comics in Saturday's paper? They were wrapped around coupon magazines and advertiser inserts. The new comics section will be found each Saturday in the Daily. Enjoy!

We've started printing our guest columns by local writers. So far the topics covered include the lost art of note writing, orchids in the valley, humanism and overcoming adversity. You can find those columns online at www.nvdaily.com/lifestyle/guest-columns

Do you have a hobby or expertise in something that you'd like to share with our readers? If you would like to be considered as a guest columnist, please email your first column to lash@nvdaily.com. We're looking for about 750 words of beautiful prose, and at least six columns, one a month for six months.

Do you have a proof reader? Everyday there's errors in the NVD. Everyday! Whoever is doing the proof reading really needs more training.

Here's a couple of examples I'll use for this purpose today. You have been running this ad for a very long time along with his picture and still continue to spell part of his company's name wrong. The correct word is group. In the ad the word is spelled broup. Is this his error or that of the NVD? And by the way, I, like so many other readers of the NVD hate opening the classifieds and seeing his puss everyday. We really think this should be in another section of your paper. Seriously, I hate opening the classifieds!

Another error is in the obit for Dakota "Cody" Ryman. He likes the Beatles, not the Beetles.

I know there's more, but this is just a couple of examples to get you started.

Good grief! I didn't teach english but I know a few of the basic rules of it's use. Don't use bad grammar to criticize errors in the NVD. "Everyday" should have been separated as 'every day', There's indicates 'there is' but should have been written there are errors. Here's should have been here are. Here's a couple? How about here are a couple.
Before you wind up to throw that rock maybe you should make sure it won't crumble in your hand.

Piky, piky, piky. Hoo kares if sumthing is missspleled? Eye thenk yu kan uddrstend evry theng rote effen wen spled wey rong. Du u ketch mi drft thayr hote sht?

Hmmmmm....."sht" iz spled wif ah "oh", knot ah "eye". Dickshunery sez sew.

    Bwaaaahhhhh hahahahaha
