A good reason to live here

Why would anybody want to live in the Northern Shenandoah Valley?
A story in Tuesday's Daily offers one reason: Crime rates mostly steady throughout region.
In 2011, Warren, Shenandoah and Frederick counties and the city of Winchester registered mostly single digit decreases and increases in crime rates. Many towns in our area saw little or no major crimes, though Winchester did see a small bump in simple assault and drugs/narcotics cases. Frederick County was the only area to investigate murders in 2011 - two cases of murder or non-negligent manslaughter.
Let's hope this trend continues - and better yet, decreases for 2012.
