We've made some more changes here at the Daily:
- Have you noticed our Sports agate page (C2 of today's paper)? We've put the content into two-column blocks rather than have the content flow from one very long column to the next. The content also now has separate headers for each sport. I think it's much easier to read. What do you think?
- We've hired a new reporter. Bradley Fauber joined our team last week. You may recognize his name - he's been freelancing for the Daily for the past several months. He will be covering local sports and recreational events.
- We have set up a universal desk to paginate all news and sports pages. Training is under way so that everyone who designs pages knows how to paginate every page -- news, sports and features. (This also means that designers who aren't used to paginating sports pages may need to keep a thesauras handy to search for more exciting verbs that can replace "beats."
- This hasn't happened yet, but I'm giving you a little notice. A TV book is coming back to the Daily. It will be inserted each Saturday beginning July 7.
