Letter to the Editor: 'The Gospel According to Saint Newt'

Leroy, Leroy, Your letter to the editor entitled "Notice for the POTUS - It's the economy and we're not stupid," did not contain a single original thought on your part.
The letter contained the same rant that every Republican everywhere says in exactly the same collection of misinformation, half truths, fabrications and outright lies.
I think everyone in the party has a handbook that is mandatory that they memorize and use in any opportunity they get to obfuscate whatever discussion is going on. It is probably called, "The Gospel According to Saint Newt."
If you had been present at any of the Obama speeches misquoted in your letter and heard the speech yourself or even watched it on TV, you would quickly find that what he said had been chopped up, reassembled and diametrically opposed to anything he actually said.
It is time to open your eyes, your ears and your mind. You will find that the real world is full of truth, kindness and goodwill toward your fellow man. Truth has an interesting characteristic. You can bury it in filth, lies and dirt of all kinds and the first clean rain comes
along, you can find the truth in its original form. In other words, you cannot get rid of truth
by lying. It is there, in its original form, just waiting for someone to reveal its beauty. Maybe
you should be that person.

Saint Newt tried to see for our welfare when he proposed that contract on NewtAmerica.
The remedy for speech that is false is speech that is true.
''...'if you take what I say as gospel, you're an idiot.''
—Glenn Beck, New York Times, March 29, 2009
And my fav....
In religion and politics people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing. ~ Mark Twain
Good one!!!
