Letter to the Editor: Response to comments about school lunches

In regard to comments concerning school lunches, it looks as though some parents want their kids to eat what they want to and also kids are equal to their teachers as far as making decisions.

Please add the following things to the list. Be sure to buy them the latest smart phone, more video games, keep the Facebook account open and please let them spend more time on the computer. Take away the bike so they can't exercise. Don't let them walk or ride the bus to school. Check with Obama Care to be sure it covers diabetes, knee and hip replacement, heart disease and clogged arteries.

Don't be home when the girlfriend or boyfriend comes over; that would invade their privacy. Build onto the house to accommodate the extra ones you will be feeding. This will help a contractor. Keep on good terms with the grandparent, they usually end up helping out.

Letting kids make their own decisions will open up a whole new avenue for you. You will get to know Judge William Logan, Attorney Charles Ramsey plus everyone in the court system. You can expect visits from a law enforcement officer on a regular basis. You will get to meet other parents in the hall outside the courtroom and the list of opportunities go on and on. And lastly, please don't make them get a job, and get ready to babysit.

Earl Cutlip, Strasburg

And do remeber it is all your fault for not keeping your "bowser tuckled" when you were that age.

Absolutely agree.. No wonder the US obesity rate is so high and continues to climb for adults as well as childer. School lunches, lack of exercide etc. contributes to the problem. Additionally, children aren't allowed to excercise outside, riding bikes nor is it safe for them too any longer with all the wreckless drivers out there who are busy texting or on cell phones not paying attention. It's time to take back control of your children, teaching them responsiblity. Not narcissim.

Mr. Cutlip, you are right on target.
