Letter to the Editor: Schmookler will work to restore integrity to democracy

Editor: This past Sunday my husband and I had the pleasure of hosting a get-together for Mr. Andy Schmookler who is running for Virginia's 6th Congressional District in the U. S. Congress as the Democratic nominee, opposing the 20-year Republican incumbent Mr. Bob Goodlatte. Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike attended the event at our home. It provided all attendees an opportunity to hear first hand Mr. Schmookler's stirring comments. Republicans and Independents reacted quite favorably to his remarks. Andy Schmookler is a man who will work at restoring integrity to American democracy -- not merely shaking hands at community events! If elected, he will work and vote to help average Americans -- not just the interests of the powerful few. Mr. Schmookler is the type of individual who we so desperately need at this time! To learn more about the values that Mr. Schmookler stands for, I encourage you to visit his website www.AndySchmooklerForCongress.com.

Andy Schmookler is an intelligent, well-educated man who also shows compassion for the average, hard-working man (and woman). He understands the issues and is now challenging "Do-Nothing" Goodlatte.

I hope people will pay attention to Schmookler and think about his message. We need to get someone who will go to Washington, DC and speak for us!

Goodlatte has overstayed his welcome and it's time to kick him out! As a lifetime native of this state, I ask you all to demand some serious debates to force Goodlatte to face his challenger, Schmookler.

Stop allowing Goodlatte a free ride! Demand a representative of the people and for the people - get rid of this servant of an out of touch Republican Party. Term limits should also be discussed, I'm sick of career politicians.

That is the best thing I heard in a long time, Diana. A good old fashion, slug it out debate. Now you're talking. And I can't believe we agree again. I suggest a two term limit on those career politicians.

Rep and corporate/union relationships that are not long term. That would be great. Only problem is to get that passed the same people that would be passing it is the ones who would get kicked out after term two. I don't think will see any of those people do that even though it would be for the good of the country.
