As we observe the anniversary of 9/11, we often hear the phrase, "We will not forget."
I agree. We should not forget, but I am ashamed of the way our politicians, news media, and the citizens of our great country have forgotten the more than 6,500 hundred members of the armed forces killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
While we worry about our economy, our quest for things, we have forgotten the killing and maiming of our warriors. We have forgotten the economic hardship, the mental anguish of losing loved ones that their families face.
I am ashamed of the lack of patriotism, honor, and glory to God in our country. I am ashamed of our posturing politicians with over-inflated egos who cannot govern the greatest country in the world that was entrusted to them.
I cherish the right to vote, though I do not see a qualified choice. I will vote for the one who swears to bring our warriors home now.
