Letter to the Editor: Republicans have made a mess of this nation
On foreign policy, Mitt Romney has so far relied on many of George W. Bush's foreign policy advisers. When Romney made the trip abroad, he made a fool of himself.
President Obama, on the other hand, has had military success against Al Queda and his broader move to the center on overseas matters since 2009.
In January 2009, the Republicans held their own retreat at the Library of Congress. Mitch McConnell said, "We need to stick together as a team." If Obama is for it, we are against it. All he cared about was that Obama could never have a clean victory. So was born the "Party of No!"
The Obama plan: $300 billion worth of tax cuts, unemployment benefits, infrastructure, research, top education reforms, and much more, but the Republicans never waivered, always no!
They want to get rid of Obama so they can get back in power at the cost of everyone in this country. I think what they have done is the next thing to treason.
The Republicans are trying to blame the mess this country is in on Obama, but they made the mess themselves.
Romney has no idea what my needs are; he grew up in a billion-dollar household.
He wants to replace the current Medicare system with a premium support program that gives seniors a fixed amount to purchase private insurance; his running mate wants to voucherize Medicare.
Ryan trashed Obama's stimulus as a "wasteful spending spree" while seeking stimulus dollars for his district.
Romney's plan would benefit high earners while slightly increasing on low and middle class families.
On foreign policy, Romney and Ryan have the least overseas experience of any ticket since Thomas Dewey and Earl Warren in 1948.
Here we go again, there is very little difference in Bush's plan and Romney's plan. I will vote for Obama in November.
