Letters to the Editor: We don't need political generals

Editor:
The four-star comedy of errors being played out in Washington shows the failure of our senior military leaders.
Leadership is taught to officers at the platoon and company levels. Both Gen. John Allen and former CIA Director David Petraeus skipped those classes.
Both should resign. We don't need political generals, we need leaders like Lee, Grant, Patton and Chesty Puller. The morale is low enough after 12 years of unnecessary wars and multiple deployments. Both bring dishonor and disgrace to our fighting men and women.
