Like many Americans, I am very troubled by the budget crisis our nation is currently facing, and I have been discouraged by the partisan bickering in Congress that is preventing a resolution to the problem. In order to dig ourselves out of this massive hole of a deficit we are in, we need to elect leaders who will place cooperation and compromise over partisanship.
In the most recent debate between Tim Kaine and George Allen, I could tell Kaine shares my views. He made it clear that he would work with a president from either political party, and he has a record of balancing the budget as governor. And while Tim Kaine cut billions in spending, including his own pay, George Allen helped move us from surplus to deficit as senator, and voted four times to raise his own pay. We need real leadership in Washington; we need Tim Kaine.
